Some people think marketing is the same as advertising and others believe marketing and sales are the same synonymous. Whatever one may think, there is a very thin line between marketing, advertising and sales, all three are equally important and work hand in hand but there is a difference.
Marketing is the backbone of a companies sales team. Effective marketing gets the attention of the target audience by systematic planning, implementing and controlling of a mix of business activities using the four 'Ps'- product, place, price and promotion. Once it gets the potential customer list it passes on to sales.
On the other hand advertising is a component of marketing; it is a paid announcement of a persuasive message by a company for its existing and potential clients. Marketing is everything a company does to acquire customers and maintain a relationship with them. The ultimate goal of marketing is to match a company's products and services to the people who need and want them, in return make profit for the organization.
At webGem we understand the difference between the three and provide the right and necessary tools and resources to our aspiring entrepreneurs and home based business owners.
