Starting today, June 25, 2009, Facebook makes it possible for your "status updates" to be seen by the general public.
Of course this is strictly an added option and you are still able to keep your updates for your network of 'friends' only. Lately, Facebook has been making a series of upgrades and changes that seemingly parallels Twitter. Is Facebook trying to morph into Twitter or are they trying to capture and monopolize the billion-based-global social network market. Either way this added feature on Facebook, means your status updates can be visible to not only those in your social network but those who aren't and, maybe even more importantly, Google, Bing and every other search engine that indexes Facebook pages and profiles.
